CELEBRATING OUR DIVERSITY AS LEARNERS

Transitional Learner Program Overview

September 17, 2020

Dear Transitional Learning Families:

*Please see the attached for the original letter and the Chinese translation*

Thank you very much for your patience as we worked on finalizing the details of the new Transitional Learning program. Your child will be part of a Transitional Learning classroom that will begin on Monday, Sept. 21st.  Transitional learning students will work with their assigned cohort of teachers, with one teacher taking the lead.  School-based cohort teachers will be responsible for fostering connections between home and school, conducting student check-ins based on the week’s activities, gathering evidence of student learning, and giving descriptive feedback. Many cohorts have classroom teachers who are sharing the Transitional Learning role and students will receive an email from their lead Transitional Learning teacher outlining their first week of learning schedule by Friday.

Note: If it is essential that you require a device to support your child’s Transitional Learning please contact the office (604-668-6454) as soon as possible. There are limited numbers of district devices to lend out to families.
