CELEBRATING OUR DIVERSITY AS LEARNERS

Update on School Attendance for Tuesday, June 29th, 2021

Dear Richmond Families,

I hope you are all finding ways to avoid the extreme heat as much as possible. This has certainly been a challenging year. As promised in the letter to all parents yesterday evening, here is an update regarding school attendance for tomorrow, Tuesday, June 29th.

Elementary Schools:

Internal temperatures in our schools are very hot today and temperatures are not expected to drop significantly for tomorrow according to the weather forecast. We will therefore only be opening schools tomorrow morning for students to pick up items such as report cards or belongings they may need to take home with them over the summer. Staff will be in attendance at schools to distribute items first thing in the morning at the usual school start time, and then students will be immediately dismissed for the summer. If students do not need to pick anything up from school, we ask that parents/caregivers keep their children at home tomorrow.

Once again, I would like to thank all parents for your patience and understanding of yet another challenging circumstance that we are all navigating together.  I wish you and your families a relaxing and enjoyable summer.

Sincerely,
Scott Robinson

Superintendent of Schools
