Our Cook community celebrated our first Spirit Day, dress like your favorite book character. The same day we had our first Family Teams. All of our learners came together dressed up and learned about what making connections are. Vice Principal, Mr. Miller, and Principal, Ms. Widdess, crafted a lesson sequence to Monique Gray Smith's picture book My Heart Fills With Happiness. Administration videoed themselves doing a "think-aloud" to the book to model how to make connections while reading. Please see the attached lesson sequence.
